5.5 OOH-Funded Program Requirements

Benchmarks and Performance Standards

Site ReviewsOOH-funded programs are encouraged to meet the following benchmarks established by the Ohio Department of Health, based on years of programmatic success and data analysis:

> 50 percent of children have parental consent to receive dental sealants
> 97 percent of children with consent are screened
> 90 percent of children in need of sealants receive sealants
> 65 percent of children are screened for follow-up in third and seventh grades
> 90 percent long-term retention
100 percent short-term retention, if there are triggers for short-term retention checks

OOH strives to ensure that high-quality dental sealants are provided to children at high risk for dental caries, and OOH helps funded programs meet this expectation.
